We are the south of Scotland’s only scratch rum distillery, so we are a unique attraction in the area, and within about 10 minutes of the A75 and M74. We are just a two person team, with often only a single person on site during the week. Since Ninefold is a working distillery, we are running our still more often than not!
Opening Times
10am to 4pm Monday to Friday for drop in purchases.
However, we are not open for drop in tours - these strictly must be booked in advance to allow us to fit you in to our schedule, see below for our terms.
Distillery Tours - T&C’s
We offer tours of around 1.5 hrs with owner and distillery, Dr. Kit Carruthers, with tickets costing £20 for adults, and £10 for children 12-17 years old. Your tour includes a rum tasting at the end (around 4-6 rums in total), with drivers able to take away ‘drivers’ drams’ to try at home.
The minimum booking is two people (£40). Bookings are made in advance by paying in full, no later than 48 hours before your tour time. This is fully refundable up to 48 hours before your tour for groups of 2-4; for larger groups, 50% is non-refundable.
Tours are standing for the entirety, however chairs can be provided upon request. The distillery is fully wheelchair accessible, with notice.
We are a fully operational production facility, so no dogs are permitted inside the distillery. Please be aware that the distillery shares a yard with a private residence. Polite dogs are welcome in the car park provided they are on a lead at all times, and please respect our residential neighbour’s property. Smoking is not permitted within the yard.
Please also note that we have a distillery cat who roams freely outside and in, and if you’re lucky you might get to meet him!
We are typically available for tours at 11am or 2pm, though as we are a small team of two, this varies seasonally and as per our production schedule. Please let us know when you are looking to book a tour and we will try to accommodate.
